Twisted your ankle? Here's how to treat a sprain:

RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation

Rest: Limit movement and use crutches if needed.

Ice: Apply intermittently for up to 3 days to reduce swelling (never directly on skin).

Compression: Use an elastic wrap to control swelling and bruising.

Elevation: Keep your ankle above heart level for 2–3 hours daily.

Braces, splints, or anti-inflammatory medications may also be recommended to support healing. Take care of your ankle and get back on your feet safely! A visit with one of our Physical Therapists can be beneficial to learn how to introduce the correct exercises to regain your motion and strength. If you have any questions, just reach out to us here at (402) 489-4700.
