Polarized lenses reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water and roads, enhancing clarity and color, while regular (non-polarized) lenses only reduce overall light intensity. Polarized lenses are better for activities like driving and water sports, whereas non-polarized lenses are suitable for general use and situations where depth perception is critical.

Can your eyes get sunburned? YES! Your eyes CAN get sunburned. This condition is called photokeratitis and occurs when the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye) is damaged by ultraviolet (UV) rays. It's similar to a skin sunburn and can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Symptoms: Eye pain or a gritty, sandy feeling in the eyes. Redness and swelling. Excessive tearing or watering of the eyes. Sensitivity to light (photophobia). Blurred vision or seeing halos around lights. Headache. The best approach is prevention. Wear sunglasses with 100% UV protection, especially in bright conditions or around reflective surfaces.
