Student Alliance for Gender Equality and Sexual Health

Student Alliance for Gender Equality and Sexual Health UNL's campus organization promoting gender equity SAGE+SH is the combined group of Students Advocating Gender Equity (SAGE) and Students for Sexual Health.

UNL's SAGE+SH (Student Alliance Gender Equality and Sexual Health) is an extension of the Women's and Gender Studies Program but open to all interested students! SAGE+SH seeks to provide a place of action, discussion, and academic development for students interested in feminist and gender concerns on the UNL campus and the Lincoln community, as well as topics of sexual health. Both groups seek to promote the freedom and equality of all individuals regardless of gender and sex and will have have meetings together. Meeting times and locations are TBA - drop us a line/leave us a comment and tell us what time works best for you! Additionally, if you would like to be added to SAGE's listserv, you can send us a message with your email address, or go to listserv.unl.edu and the list name is just SAGE. Please invite any and all UNL students who may be interested! "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead

Hello, all! As I mentioned in a previous post, nest year, SAGE will be merging with another group on campus, Students for Sexual Health. One of the things we need to do before this merger can officially happen is come up with a name for the combined group. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to comment on this post!
Thanks,
Vic Mumm (President of SAGE, Vice President of Students for Sexual Health)

It's 90% certain that SAGE will be merging with Students for Sexual Health next year. We are still looking for a primary programmer. If you are interested, please contact Victoria Mumm by the end of the week.

HEY, PEOPLE WHO WENT TO THE WOMEN'S MARCH! THAT PROTEST SURE WAS A GOOD TIME, BUT NOW IT'S TIME TO GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. YOU READY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN?

Who wants to storm the state capitol in sea of matching pink shirts with me for Planned Parenthood's annual Lobby Day from 9am-3pm on February 14? Can you think of a better way to celebrate Galentine's Day than by advocating for increased access to family planning services for all our Nebraska gals (and gents and everyone in between)? Because I definitely can't. It's what St. Galentine would've wanted. Fact.

Registration is $15 for students and $25 for general admission but your fees cover the cost of your breakfast, lunch, transportation, training, t-shirt, and reference materials. IF YOU WANT TO GO BUT CANNOT PAY I CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT FOR YOU. But please don't ask me to unless you really need it. There are some scholarships available, but if we run out of those then I will personally pay your registration fee. Because I need you with us and this is absolutely worth it to me.

So if you want to go but might need some help getting there then let's talk. If you want to go and don't need any help getting there then that's awesome. Here's the link for online registration. Do it now and then post in the comments if I'll be able to look forward to seeing you there!

THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY *ACTUALLY* LOOKS LIKE. I WANT TO SEE A TON OF NEW FACES STANDING WITH US THIS YEAR. LET'S DO IT.

This legislative session, Planned Parenthood will be working hard to keep access to health care – including safe, legal abortion – available for all Nebraskans, despite budget shortfalls and opposition to reproductive health care. Hello all! I've created a Doodle poll for meeting times next year. If you could fill it out with times you are available as soon as possible, that'd be great!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late update. We have conflicts amongst ourselves, so no meeting this week. We are finalizing plans for movie night the Friday, Nov. 4th though, so like this post if you'd like to come! It'll be from 7-10. Also, we'll be attending the Drag Show as a club, so make sure you check out the other post for info about that!

10/12/2016

Friendly reminder that there is no meeting this week, but we have it in the works to possibly do a movie/discussion/pizza night on the 21st so we can all relax from midterms, so get hyped about that!
