I happen to see this photo today (did not know it was taken) and it made me smile & reflect. Why? Because of the words that were over-laid on it.

I think about my story – my journey over the last 20+ years and the statement rings true. He (meaning God) can use anything. My hurts, my wounds, my shame, my deliberate decisions to hurt people, etc…He uses all of it and if I choose to surrender my pride, my need to be right & my selfishness; He really does work it out for my good. I can’t explain how all that works but I have seen it play out in my life & countless others. But, the kicker… it is rarely in my timing or the way I think it should look or feel. It is often bumpy, hard and messy. Against my own need to achieve and ‘get things done’ - I have had to learn to sit back and watch Him. And if I take the time to do that (to sit & watch), my only response is arms & heart wide-open to be used. I miss it. I mess up. I forget. It is not perfect but perfection is never the goal anyway.

Friends…the simple truth is this: if He can use me; He can certainly use you!!!

I will leave you with a quote that ‘A’ (you know, the A in BA) told me. It is a good one & worth pondering. “We over-estimate what we can do in a day but we under-estimate what we can do in a year.” (B. Gates)

‘FOUR GIFTS’ of the Season.
Joy.
Peace.
Hope.
Wonder.

This month, I themed my office questions around these four words.
But let me ask you a question: do you experience these four words on a consistent basis? If not, why not?

Let me make it little more personal.
> If I am not experiencing joy, I can often link it back to my lack of thankfulness.

>If I am not feeling peaceful, I must consider how worried or anxious I am.

>If I do not feel hopeful, I must ask myself, what I am reading or watching that creates doubt or despair.

>If I am not amazed at the wonder around me, I must stop and notice how distracted I am by lesser things.

Joy. Peace. Hope. Wonder. The attributes of the holiday season that we should – dare I say, can - have throughout the whole year.

And looking into 2026…may this be a year we:
Share joy. Extend peace. Offer hope. Live with wonder.
And…as we do, it will not only affect our lives but the lives of those we encounter!
