🎶 Still Singing Strong 🎶

In 1988, Dick Kluver helped found the Homestead Harmonizers, a beloved caroling group in Beatrice, Nebraska. Years later, life tested his harmony. After surviving two strokes, Dick became a Bryan Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation graduate in 2017 and again in 2018. Speech changes made singing difficult, but not impossible. With practice, patience and heart, Dick found his way back to song and to his a ca****la group.

Every year, Dick and the Homestead Harmonizers return to the rehab unit to sing for patients spending the holidays in the hospital. “I am thankful for the opportunity to give back and inspire stroke survivors by singing,” Dick shares. His voice – and their music – bring comfort, hope and joy to patients and staff.

This advanced technology combines real-time data, AI and surgeon expertise for greater precision and improved outcomes. With more than 1,700 robotic surgeries performed each year, Bryan continues to lead the way in innovation for Nebraska patients.

🌟 Meet our newest Milestone Achiever: Lydia 🌟
When Lydia came to Bryan Pediatric Rehab at six months, she had a repaired cleft palate, a feeding tube and a genetic condition that made moving and eating hard. She could only roll to one side and needed support to sit.

Now at 18 months, Lydia is crawling, pulling up, cruising and even taking steps! She grasps toys, loves bubbles and squishy dinosaurs and is building problem-solving skills.

She enjoys textured foods, brings a spoon to her mouth and is working toward saying goodbye to her g-tube. Lydia is learning to express her needs and use a communication device.

Way to go, Lydia!

We’ve already had our first snow, and more is on the way. If sledding is in your family’s future plans, experts say a helmet may be just as important as boots and mittens for kids under 12.

From choosing the right hill to knowing how to stop, these simple safety steps can help prevent the most common winter injuries.
