In 1978 women marched in Washington, D.C., wearing purple โ€” a color of courage, survival and the fight to end violence. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we honor their legacy, stand with survivors, and let hope grow stronger together. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ“… Mark your calendars for Purple Thursday, October 16! ๐Ÿ“…

We're wearing purple to show solidarity with survivors of domestic violence and spread awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM).

It's simple: Wear purple and share your photo to help us break the silence and let survivors know they are not alone.

Check out one of our Amelia Earhart Fellows this year, Sage Herz from Ohio State University. These ladies are doing amazing work! Congrats to all our Amelia Earhart Fellows! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽ“ Zonta International is proud to support students like Sage Herz for advancing womenโ€™s representation in the aerospace field.

Sage, an aerospace engineering doctoral student at The Ohio State University, was one of 30 women awarded the US$10,000 Zonta Amelia Earhart Fellowship this year.

Through the Fellowship, we continue to empower women to reach new heights in science and engineering, building a future where innovation knows no gender.

Zonta International proudly joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of the Girl on 11 October, one of our four annual Days of Action dedicated to advancing girlsโ€™ rights and addressing the unique challenges they face worldwide.

While progress has been madeโ€”with millions more girls in school than a decade agoโ€”too many still face barriers that hold them back. Around 122 million girls remain out of school, many living in unsafe conditions or facing harmful stereotypes that limit their potential.

But there is hopeโ€”and it lives in the actions of Zontians and youth advocates across the globe.

We just wrapped up a full weekend at the Zonta District 6 Fall Conference. Each year, this event reinvigorates us to action and advocacy in our communities and abroad. It takes all of us working together, locally and globally, to achieve our goals. Listening to each of the young women who received awards from our district talk about their projects and how the awards are helping them accomplish their own goals, you canโ€™t help but think that the future is bright! Check out their details in the pics.

The annual โ€œorangeโ€ pic. ๐Ÿ˜ The Zonta Club of Lincoln proudly represented our community at the Zonta District 6 Fall Conference this weekend. Women from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana gathered to discuss our goals and ideate on how we serve our communities to advocate for building a better world for women and girls. We wear orange in recognition of Zonta Says NO because we believe we should live in a world where no woman or girl lives in fear.

๐Ÿฉบ 40 years of empowering women through service projects ๐Ÿฉบ

Today's takes us to 1986โ€“1988, when Zonta partnered with UNIFEM in Argentina. With an investment of US$71,050, the program trained 500 women as primary health care promoters, bringing essential services to rural communities.

For four decades, the Zonta Foundation for Women has fueled global service and education programs that empower women and girls worldwide. ๐Ÿ’› Follow us each week as we look back at the 40 years of impact made possible by you.
