14 years ago, I made a huge decision and quit my full time job to open my own business. It was terrifying. I had been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 7 years, but what if I didn't have enough clients, what if I didn't know how to effectively run a business, what if I failed? But, here I am, going strong, even after the fiasco that was 2020 and being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It hasn't been easy, nor will it get any easier. But, for the time being, this is what I still want (and am able) to do. Thank you for all the support for the last 14 years. ~ Kim

Good morning, everyone. This is Kim. I wanted to say "thank you" to everyone who has stuck with me over about the last 2 to 3 years, or so. My health started going downhill around August of 2017. I started having less mobility and was in constant pain. I was diagnosed with several things, from thyroid issues, to arthritis, to being told that it "was all in my head". That last part, is, technically, correct. On January 4th, 2020, I ended up at the ER with a terrible headache. The doctors did an MRI and referred me to a neurologist. That neurologist informed me that I had "a few lesions" in my brain and it was probably from chronic migraines. At the beginning of August, I ended up back in the ER because half of my right hand went numb and I thought I was having a stroke. I ended up being admitted to the hospital for 3 days, saw a new neurologist and got to undergo a plethora of "fun" tests, including a lumbar puncture. On August 26th, I was told that I had 8 lesions in my brain, some in my cervical spine and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It has been a very challenging 4 months, with new medications, infusions, trial and error. I am feeling hopeful, though, that we are on the correct treatment path, now, and things will be getting "better". Again, thank you for bearing with me. I hope everyone has a bright and blessed holiday season. Xoxo

For those of you that have been coming to me, Kim, for a while, you'll know that I haven't been the most consistent in keeping appointments. I apologize for that. I have had some significant health issues discovered in the last two weeks, which explain a lot of the issues I have been having the last year or so. I am working with a team of doctors to get things figured out, so that I will hopefully be able to keep working. I am sorry for being unreliable and inconsistent. It has been very hard some days to even get out of bed with the level of pain I experience, and we are working on getting that under control. This year has been incredibly depressing and challenging. Please bear with me a little longer. Thank you... Kim Adams Johnson

It's an extraordinary time we have found ourselves in. As you may have seen in the recent Directed Health Measure from the State, Massage Therapy Establishments have been given permission to reopen with additional safety protocols in place on May 11th. After deep soul searching, lots of tears and sleepless nights, Ancient Arts Massage is choosing to remain closed for the short term until we feel it is a better time to open. It is never an easy decision, but we made it based on the best interests of our clients, our families, and our friends. At this time, there are too many "unknowns" for us to feel confident in offering Massage to our clients. Please be assured that we are getting everything in place to safely reopen, with additional sanitation protocols and safety measures. Thank you for your love and support during this time. We are looking forward to opening our doors again, soon. Blessings to you and your families. Stay safe and healthy.
