Today, we’re thankful for you — the lifesavers who make it possible for patients to spend more holidays with the people they love. Your generosity keeps our shelves stocked and our communities strong.

If you haven’t donated yet, there’s still time to give the ultimate gift this season and grab a Lifesavers t-shirt. From our family to yours, thank you for making a difference and have a happy Thanksgiving. 💛

Platelets are essential for patients battling cancer, facing major surgeries, recovering from trauma, or undergoing transplants. They help blood clot, prevent dangerous bleeding, and often mean the difference between crisis and recovery.

But there’s a challenge: platelets have a shelf life of only 5–7 days.
That means our supply needs constant replenishment — and we rely on dedicated donors to keep it strong.

Your donation can help multiple patients and provide hope where it’s needed most.

💛 Give more often.
💛 Make a targeted impact.
💛 Help save lives this week.

Meet Madison, a 16-year-old junior and proud first-time donor who pushed past her fear to make a difference.

“My mom usually gives blood, and she says it’s a good deed,” Madison shared. “Once they put the needle in, it’s not that bad… and I’m scared of needles.”

It’s young donors like Madison who prove that even small moments of bravery can have a lifesaving impact!

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Accident victims, cancer patients, newborns, and those undergoing surgeries all rely on a steady supply of lifesaving donations. But right now, that supply is critically low.

Just one donation can help save up to three lives. It takes less than an hour, but its impact can last a lifetime.

If you’ve ever thought about giving blood, now is the time!

Today we’re celebrating one of our newest lifesavers — Josephine, a first-time donor who stepped up at her school’s fall blood drive because of a simple but powerful reason:

“I just want to give back to the community. I know there’s a lot of hospitals that need blood.”

Josephine's generosity represents exactly what these drives are all about: students discovering the impact they can make and choosing to be part of something bigger than themselves.

“We're 50 donors, we're 60 donors, or 100 donors behind Wisconsin. Are you going to be the reason that we fall to the Badgers?” said Jack Burchess, a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the director of Huskers Give Blood.

When the race is this close, every donation counts. You have exactly two weeks left to register your donation and help get Nebraska back into first place. 🏆

The university held an all-day blood drive Friday at Memorial Stadium in effort to secure first place.

As we gather to celebrate gratitude and giving, remember — there’s no greater gift than the gift of life. Stop by to donate at any center or drive from November 23 to November 30 and you'll receive our Thanksgiving-edition Lifesaver t-shirt as a special thank-you for helping patients in need.

Your donation can make all the difference for someone spending the holidays in a hospital instead of at home with family.

We recently had the privilege of honoring Lincoln resident, Gary Myers, for reaching an extraordinary milestone — donating more than 3,000 units of blood, plasma, and platelets over his lifetime!

“Sometimes the impossible is actually possible with the right level of commitment and determination,” Gary said. “I’m honored to give those in need another day.”

Gary began donating at 19 and has spent decades giving selflessly to help others. His rare AB+ blood type and incredible commitment have made him one of the most prolific blood donors in the nation. Gary, we're so proud to have been on this journey with you. Congratulations!!
