Young people often want to give back but feel like they don’t have the time, money, or resources to make an impact. The truth is — you already have what it takes!

🩸 Donating blood is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to help others.
It costs nothing, takes about an hour, and can save up to three lives with every donation.

Why does Andrea give? "I try to donate pretty regularly. I'm O-negative and know there's a huge need."

O-negative is often called the universal blood type because it can be given to anyone in an emergency when there’s no time to check blood type. As a special thank you to our O-negative donors, we're giving away a cozy knit scarf now until December 31st. Make sure to register first! ncbb.org/lifesaver/

Donors and team members are bringing lots of *spirit* to our donor centers!

Thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves (or shark fins) to help save lives. The need for blood doesn’t take a holiday, and that’s why giving during times like Halloween is so important. Hospitals still rely on a steady supply of blood to help patients every single day — and your donation makes that possible!

While you're planning costumes and carving pumpkins, remember there's still a big need for blood donations this fall. Donating blood is a simple way to make a difference and be a real-life superhero! Only 3 in 100 people donate blood—let’s change that this Halloween!

We had such a great time last night joining Lincoln Southwest High School's Trunk or Treat! The event was hosted by the Student Council, who also lead the school’s blood drives — and we were so excited to be invited to take part in the fun. 🩸🧡

It’s always inspiring to see young leaders in action, bringing their community together and supporting our lifesaving mission in creative ways.

Today we celebrate the bravery and dedication of our first responders — and highlight our partners at the Omaha Fire Department.

Earlier this summer, the Omaha Fire Department launched a pre-hospital whole-blood transfusion program, equipping medic units to deliver lifesaving blood directly in the field. Since then, they’ve treated 13 patients — 11 of whom survived traumatic injuries thanks to this immediate intervention.

This groundbreaking effort depends entirely on the generosity of volunteer blood donors. Every unit given could support programs like this that enhance trauma care and save lives.

🙏 To all the first responders: thank you for your tireless service.
❤️ To every donor: your gift of blood is a lifesaving gift to those in critical need.

High school students play a huge role in keeping our community blood supply strong. Nearly 1 in 5 donations come from young donors, proving that it’s never too early to make a lifesaving impact. 💪

When you give blood, you’re helping patients in your community, supporting hospitals, and inspiring your friends to do the same.

George doesn’t just give blood, he gives from the heart. During his recent visit, he shared a beautiful poem he wrote about the importance of donating and helping others.

In his own creative way, George reminds us that every donation tells a story — one of kindness, hope, and the power to save lives. Thank you, George, for your words, your generosity, and your commitment to making a difference with every visit.
