Social Sparks is an outpatient counseling center that offers a variety of therapeutic services in RI These skills are crucial for individuals of all ages.

Social Sparks is an outpatient mental health practice that opened its doors in 2015, and services ages 5 through adult. It is owned and operated by the Clinical Director, Kristen Spencer, LICSW, and the Director of Operations Shane Myers. Social Sparks provides services including individual, family, and group counseling as well as interest-based clubs and summer programs. Social Sparks is proud to serve the neurodiverse community, be an LGBTQ+ Safe Zone and serve clients with a range of diagnoses. At Social Sparks, we utilize an eclectic approach to therapy. Our clinicians are highly skilled, approaching each client with cultural humility, and together bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. Seeing each client as an individual and identifying the best approach to assist them in reaching their goals is of the utmost importance. Therapeutic modalities are applied with a trauma-informed lens and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Social Skills Training, and more. Our services also enhance Social Emotional Learning (SEL) through engagement in a therapeutic and supportive environment. In this setting, individuals can learn, practice, and apply critical social and emotional skills such as emotional regulation, building and maintaining relationships, and problem-solving skills. Our client-centered approach incorporates strengths-based and evidenced-based practices to spark growth and positive change. Social Sparks is offering a community resource and support group on Thursday evening (tomorrow 2/19) at our Lincoln office for all Social Sparks clients. We will provide resources to support processing and working through feelings related to the violence that has occurred in our community this week. This group is open to all ages. To Our Community 💛

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in our community yesterday in Pawtucket. Events like this can shake our sense of safety and leave many of us, especially our children, feeling scared and unsettled.

It is normal to feel grief, anxiety, anger, confusion, or fear after something like this. Children may ask questions or show changes in sleep, mood, or behavior. Staying calm, offering reassurance, limiting media exposure, and maintaining familiar routines can help restore stability.

As a local mental health practice, Social Sparks is available to support families who may need guidance in accessing resources and support.

Social Sparks offers a unique, D&D therapeutic group, The Realm of Connections, at both our Lincoln and South County locations.
⭐ Immediate openings are now available in our Lincoln groups!

Through guided gameplay, participants build skills in:

Our Lincoln groups are facilitated by Chrissy Wagner, LCSW, an experienced clinician and talented DM who helps bring therapeutic goals to life through adventure. She runs groups for a variety of ages with current openings.

This week, our South County Tween group worked together with Ms. Kristy and Ms. Hillery to create a Giving Tree, made entirely out of recycled paper bags! 🍂 The activity focused on teamwork, creativity, and gratitude, reminding us that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
We’re using our Giving Tree to collect donations for our local food drive 🥫💛 Every item helps feed neighbors in need and spreads a little extra warmth this season.

If you’d like to contribute, feel free to drop off non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, or peanut butter in our donation box. Together, we can make our community a little brighter! 🌟

Social Sparks is a Social Emotional Learning Center that opened in 2015. Social Sparks provides outpatient therapeutic services including individual, family and group counseling as well as interest-based clubs and summer programs.
