Business of the Year
Carlinville is a community full of terrific businesses. I have always believed that stronger businesses make a stronger Carlinville. Our local businesses are truly the backbone of this community, and we are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by owners and teams who consistently show up not just for their work, but for the place we all call home.
Our businesses step up for one another. They step up for causes. They step up for kids, for families, for events, and for ideas that make this town better. That spirit is what sets Carlinville apart, and tonight’s Business of the Year embodies that spirit in a way that is impossible to miss.
This year’s recipient is always the first to say yes.
When the Chamber calls, they are in. When a new idea is floated, they lean forward. When an event needs support, they do not hesitate. And while we might like to believe we are a little special when they say yes to us, the truth is, we are not unique in that experience.
They are the first to pitch in for community events.
The first to sponsor.
The first to volunteer.
You’ll find their name supporting Little League teams, the Rotary pancake breakfast, fundraisers, and causes all across our community.
They set the bar for what it looks like to be a good steward of Carlinville. They give generously of their resources, but even more importantly, they give their time and energy. They care deeply about their customers, their staff, and the community as a whole, and it shows in everything they do.
And if you ever need proof that they are truly all in, you only need to look as far as the Chamber’s Halloween Mashup. As our two time reigning champions, they have demonstrated that whether it’s community support or a tutu and tights, they commit fully. Especially Jon Reid’s calves, which many of us are still recovering from after that.
But that lighthearted moment really says something important about who they are.
Everything they do, they do with heart. With enthusiasm. And with a genuine desire to make things better for those around them.
They show up. They sacrifice. And they help build a stronger tomorrow for all of us.
It is my honor to recognize this year’s Business of the Year, Advanced EyeCare - Carlinville
