Save the date! December 2 is , and the Selected Educational Trust will be raising money for mortuary science scholarships. Have you been thinking about starting a memorial scholarship as a way to establish your firm's legacy? The Trust makes it easy, just like we did for Megan Comer and Nicole Comer-Postma, who chose to honor their father by establishing the Stuart Comer Memorial Scholarship to the Selected Annual Meeting. You did it! NGL extended the challenge and our donors exceeded the call! Combined with NGL's pledge to match donations dollar for dollar up to $10,000, the Trust received more than $50,000! And now we continue our work of connecting independent funeral homes with the next generation of the profession, and providing scholarships and resources for funeral service professionals at all stages of their career.

The Trust was honored to participate in today’s Group 4 Roundtable meeting hosted by DeFiore Funeral and Cremation Service in Huntley, IL. Participants Members discussed challenges and trends, participated in a facilitated discussion about empathy and grief awareness training by Lisa Orris, founder of Grief Guide, and got some one-on-one time with the firm’s therapy dog, Lovey.
