Chag Sameach friends. This Passover has been the hardest one yet for many reasons. One major one being the state of our world and Israel. The sadness and helplessness that I feel is coursing through me and weighing me down. The fact that in this day and age we still are using war to win our battles instead of the intelligence that exists in our world to actually talk through our differences rather than kill each other is mind boggling to me.

I cowrote this song with Multiplatinum singer/songwriter/producer Drew Lawrence and felt the need to share this during the holiday as I continue to pray that war and hate will wash over us. This is beyond red/blue, Israel/Plaestine and politics, this is about humanity. We should ALL be able to live autonomously and free without having to fear our safety. I haven’t gotten into the studio to record it yet and I felt I couldn’t wait to share it so here is our song “Stone Age” sang by the truly talented Drew Lawrence.

A cry of despair for the state of the world and a plea to end war once and for all. We have so much intelligence experts in the world how are we still using life/death to try to solve our problems? W

I love how this reframes our perception and relationship with pain during birth.

🌟PAIN IN BIRTH HAS BENEFICIAL PURPOSE🌟

We know that if our hand were to touch something hot, our natural response would be to quickly remove our hand. Our natural response to pain, which is to flee, is a mechanism provided by Mother Nature to ensure our survival. But what about birth? We spend a lot of time trying to perfect eliminating pain from birth. We fear it immensely. But what if I told you that pain in childbirth is beneficial......🤔

In early labor, smaller, weaker pains from contractions alert us that baby is on the way. ☑️MOTHER NATURE PROMPTS YOU THROUGH PAIN TO GET YOURSELF AND BABY TO A SAFE AREA TO BIRTH TO ENSURE SURVIVAL OF YOUR BABY☑️

When the pain of contractions become more intense, you are assured that you are progressing and mommy is triggered to find positions that are more comfortable. For example, laying down is more painful and suddenly mother finds herself on her hands and knees to ease pain.
☑️MOTHER NATURE PROMPTS YOU THROUGH PAIN TO GET INTO POSITIONS THAT OPEN YOUR PELVIS, USE GRAVITY AND MAKE DESCENT OF YOUR BABY EASIER BY ALLOWING ROOM FOR YOUR BABY TO NAVIGATE YOUR PELVIS☑️

When contractions reach their peak and pain is at its highest, Endorphins(nature’s narcotic) are released to give mommy a dream like state as a break to gain energy to push her baby out. After this break, anxiety starts for mommy which releases Catecholamine which makes you alert, and strong to push your baby out. Mommy may not want anyone or anything touching her.
☑️MOTHER NATURE IS PROMPTING YOU THROUGH PAIN TO GET A REST, A NEW FOCUS, AND TO PROTECT YOUR BIRTH CANAL AND BABY BY REFUSING TOUCH AS TO REDUCE RISK OF INJURY TO YOU OR BABY DURING EXPULSION☑️

Finding a safe birthing place, changing positions, getting a break, alertness and focus, strength and the need to not be touched for protection of you and your baby are all CUED BY PAIN. When we block pain completely, for example, with an epidural, Oxytocin levels fall, the brain no longer releases Endorphins and the beautiful dance of prompts through pain and hormones that facilitate birth ceases to exist.

☑️Looking at pain in a positive light during childbirth is key to a natural birth. Listen to what the pain is telling you to do, surrender.☑️

♥️It’s pain with a purpose♥️
