Why use a weighted vest?

Weighted vests provide deep pressure input, which helps children feel calm, more organized, and better able to focus on play and learning during session. Think of it as a gentle hug for the nervous system.

How to use it safely:
- Weight should be no more than 5-10% of a child's body weight.
- Wear for 15-30 minutes at a time.
- As always, follow guidance from your therapist.

Every child is different, weighted vests are just one tool in the sensory toolbox!

Take a peek inside an Occupational Therapy session!

Today’s session focused on sensory processing and bilateral coordination — two super important skills for growing bodies and brains 🧠💪

We used Squigz toys, which are not only fun but also great for building hand strength, coordination between both sides of the body, and body awareness through sensory input. When kids play, they’re actually working hard on the foundational skills they need for everyday tasks like dressing, writing, and using utensils!
