November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

According to the American Cancer Society, 234,580 new lung cancer cases were diagnosed last year.

While smoking remains the leading cause, other risk factors include:
🚬 Exposure to secondhand smoke
🏠 Radon gas (the second leading cause)
⚙️ Asbestos and certain occupational hazards

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends annual lung cancer screenings for adults ages 50–80 who have:
• A 20 pack-year smoking history, and
• Currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years

If you fall into this category, talk to your healthcare provider about scheduling a lung cancer screening, because early detection saves lives. 💙

Lindsborg Community Hospital would like to recognize and thank all who have served in our U.S. Armed Forces this Veterans Day.

We are deeply grateful for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our nation.

We are especially proud to honor the veterans who are part of our Salina Regional family. Many of you continue your service in a new way, caring for patients, supporting our community, and strengthening the lives of others here in north central Kansas.

The American flag carries many meanings; honor, sacrifice, unity, and freedom. In this video, a few of our own veterans share what the flag means to them.

More than 6.2 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s, and that number is expected to rise to 13.8 million by 2060, according to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
