At Bethany Home, we are proud to honor and recognize the Veterans who are part of our community. Veterans Day is a time to reflect on their bravery, selflessness, and commitment to our country. We express our appreciation every day by caring for and honoring the Veterans who call our community home.

This afternoon, our staff and residents came together to enjoy the incredible program presented by Smoky Valley High School for Veterans Day. Each year, the students do a remarkable job commemorating our Veterans and acknowledging the sacrifices they've made for our country.

We were also delighted to celebrate resident Veterans during the Gentiva Hospice pinning ceremony. It was a special moment to personally thank these courageous individuals for their unwavering dedication and service.

To all Veterans, thank you for your service. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and your legacy of courage continues to inspire!

This past Wednesday, Daniel Koons joined several other local veterans for a special dinner and ceremony at the American Legion honoring those who have received the Purple Heart award.

Dan served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969. Bethan Village is deeply grateful for his courage, sacrifice, and dedication to our country!

The City of Lindsborg has now been officially proclaimed a Purple Heart City! Becoming a Purple Heart City is an amazing way for Lindsborg to recognize and show gratitude to the brave men and women who have been wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Please join us in thanking Dan and all of our veterans for their service and sacrifice!

The construction team from Hutton construction will be starting the renovations on Pleasant View Monday, November 10!

As you may know, we have been fundraising to make some much-needed improvements to Bethany Home. With the help of the Verlla Coughenhour Trust, the Greater Salina Community Foundation, the McPherson County Community Foundation, and the generosity of many of our friends and families, we are finally able to begin the renovations.

Hutton Facility Services will be here on Monday, Nov. 10 and will begin by removing the wallpaper, carpeting, and railing on the east wall of Pleasant View Hall. We will try to minimize the disruption to residents (no work will be done inside the resident rooms) and will offer other spaces for them to relax and escape the mess of construction.

The goal is to have PV done before Christmas, take a break over the holidays and begin work on Elin on January 5.

Please be patient as we work to improve our environment! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the nursing management or administrative staff.

If you would like to make a contribution to the project, please contact Jennifer Cantrell or Brian Bowman!

Employee Spotlight: Bethany Home Restorative Department! 🌟

Today we’re shining the spotlight on our incredible Restorative department! This team plays a vital role in helping our residents stay active and healthy.

Our Restorative Aides combine compassionate care with rehabilitation skills to help residents reach their highest level of independence. Working closely with nurses and therapists, they guide residents through exercises that build mobility, strength, and confidence. They support residents’ progress every step of the way by maintaining equipment and carefully documenting outcomes. Whether leading Tai Chi on Thursdays or assisting residents with the exercise bikes in the sunroom, this awesome team ensures every activity is safe, effective, and enjoyable.

Thank you to our amazing Restorative Team for your dedication and care! Our facility would not be the same without each of you! 💙

✨ Restorative Team: Cindy Mayhugh, Bailee Levering, Mika Mitchell, and Jayne Daily.

A huge thank you to everyone who came and helped make this Bethany Home tradition so special. Your smiles and laughter brought so much joy to our residents this Halloween. We cannot wait to do it all again next year! 🧡
