They are necessary, expected, and desirable. As in normal brain development, the child will experience the behavior and eventually pass through it. And here’s the good news:
Your child will usually go through these stages rather quickly. A year’s worth of “catchup” may actually only take a few weeks.
This means that all behavior changes— both good and bad— that you
see while going through the Melillo Method are a sign of positive change in the brain.
As a child’s brain neurology starts to change as we stimulate growth, behavior definitely does change and what that behavior will be depends on where the deficits are, the severity of the deficits, and the child’s age.
