Are you caring for an older adult with memory loss and are looking for support on your journey? Consider participating in a support group.

Lyngblomsten Community Services offers online and in-person Memory Loss Caregiver Support Groups twice each month. A virtual group is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:30 AM (next session in one week on March 10). An in-person group is held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 10:30 AM at Lyngblomsten at Lino Lakes (6070 Blanchard Blvd., Lino Lakes, MN 55014) (next session on March 18). Each support group meeting lasts about one hour. Registrations preferred.

Online meetings are hosted using Zoom; however, individuals can also participate by phone. New members are welcome!

Last week, the focus was on presidential matters for participants in The Gathering, Lyngblomsten's respite program for older adults with early- to mid-stage memory loss. Beside brushing up on their trivia knowledge, participants in one group created art inspired by the beautiful spring cherry blossoms that bloom in Washington, D.C., each year. They took a mixed media approach, adding dried and pressed cherry blossoms to their final project. What beautiful creations!

Kiddos from Centennial Early Childhood & Family Education Preschool made crafts and music with some of our residents this afternoon! So many smiles and giggles were had!

Today is Ash Wednesday. For many Christians, this is a holy day of prayer and fasting and marks the first day of Lent. We wish those observing a blessed Lenten season.

Happy 120th Anniversary, Lyngblomsten! Today, February 17, marks the 120th anniversary of Lyngblomsten's incorporation as a charitable organization in the state of Minnesota. Residents, families, employees, and visitors celebrated just outside Sophia's with cupcakes and a trivia quiz all about the twelve decades of Lyngblomsten's history. We loved seeing everyone have fun learning about how Lyngblomsten has been enhancing the lives of older adults since 1906.

There’s something so special about seeing residents express their personality right on their doors - whether it’s seasonal decorations, creative art work or little touches that show who they are! It’s a little boost of joy as we walk through the halls!!
