Today marks Black Balloon Day, a day dedicated to remembering the precious lives lost to overdose and addiction, as well as honoring the families and friends who feel that loss every single day. Each black balloon symbolizes someone dearly cherished—a son, daughter, parent, sibling, or friend whose story was significant and whose absence is profoundly felt. While this day brings sorrow, it’s also filled with compassion, awareness, and hope. By remembering them, we keep fighting for those still facing these challenges. Every black balloon signifies a life that was important. Today, we remember them. We honor them. And we continue to say their names. 🖤
