Here’s a challenge for you: make something that you would usually buy premade… from scratch this week!
Let me know what you’re gonna make ⤵️

If you need inspiration….you’ll never buy canned biscuits again after making these!

The kids wanted biscuits with dinner! Why not?

These took me ~10 mins of prep and 15 in the oven!
I cut them small so that when the kids ask for seconds,
even thirds, I can say yes 😜

There’s leftovers for the morning to have with their breakfast.
They reheat well! Just pop ‘em the oven for a few minutes.

There’s some typos in the carousel. I see them.
A great chance to show my kids why we follow the steps of the writing process

I am not here to be perfect ok 😂😜

Here’s the recipe:
Preheat the oven to 450
Combine 2 cups of flour with 1 tablespoon of baking powder and a dash of salt in a bowl.
Add in 3/4 cup milk and mix with a baking spatula.
Shred in 1 stick of cold butter!
Use the spatula to mix until you can’t, then use your hands!
Move the dough onto a floured surface and press it into a rectangle. Fold it in half and press it out again.
Repeat this step 3-4 times.
Shape your biscuits + transfer them to a prepared baking sheet.
Brush with milk.
Bake for ~15 mins or until golden on top!

Mindful eating, homemade, baked goods, fresh baked,
buttery biscuits, easy recipes

Balanced Butterfly Blogger

Chelsey LaFleur, the Balanced Butterfly Blogger, is a mother and wife living in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She is passionately creating beauty and balance in her life through creative inspiration and mindful choices. Each day is a new opportunity to find balance and practice mindfulness.

She is an expert in floral design and social media marketing. She started her own business in 2017 and as it blossomed into a beautiful brand, it outgrew her capabilities as a new Mother and wife. She was spreading herself too thin. She said farewell to her Wood Flower Business after 3 successful years, to begin a new journey that aligned with the life she was creating for herself and her family. She would prefer to use Floral Design as a creative outlet, something she can enjoy.

She wrestled with the idea of letting go of the brand she poured her heart into for years, the small business her family and friends supported fully and enthusiastically. She faced the fear of new beginnings and the potential of letting people down, and decided that it was worth it.

She wanted the freedom to start fresh, to love her work again. As a creative person, the desire for fluidity was strong and Chelsey felt trapped by the rigid demands of her selected niche. Creative inspiration dwindled, quality suffered, and so did her mental health.
