The Seven Rules of Life are best understood when we slow down and explore each one individually.

✨ Rule 1: MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR PAST ✨

This advice may sound simple, but it carries incredible depth. True peace isn’t just a mindset—it’s an experience that touches our thoughts, emotions, bodies, and spiritual selves.

In my work, I’ve noticed that people begin truly making peace with their past when they allow themselves to feel and acknowledge the pain it brought them. Avoiding or minimizing those feelings keeps us stuck.

But when we gently allow that pain to surface and be processed, something powerful happens:
we create space for genuine peace to take root.

Your past may have shaped you, but it doesn’t have to define you.

I participated in a police ride along with the this past Friday. I was so honored to observe Officer Sandra Martinez respond to calls with integrity, grace and genuine compassion for her community. I was so honored to ride with her and learn more about police culture to better serve the mental health needs of this population. Thank you officer Martinez and the Aurora Police Department!

It’s National Read a Book Day 📖 so we’re turning to one of our favorites, The Love Prescription.

Think about it. When was the last time you noticed the little things… the coffee waiting for you in the morning, the quick text to check in, the way they quietly handled something so you didn’t have to?

It’s easy to miss those gestures when negativity takes over, but choosing to notice the good is what helps love last.

So today, in honor of Read a Book Day, take a page from the Gottmans and ask yourself: what’s one small thing your partner has done lately that deserves a little extra appreciation? 💭❤️

Shame vs Guilt- what’s the difference? Why do we experience it? Why does feeling this things matter? How can we feel better? It’s often difficult to identify when you are feeling guilt or shame because you get so caught up in it. The first important step is to stop and realize when you are feeling these things. This makes it easier to identify which one you are feeling, and how to manage it!
