Currently in training for certification as a Somatic Experiencingยฎ Practitioner My practice focuses on addressing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, stress, self-esteem, family conflict, and life adjustments. I aim to bring warmth, creativity, authenticity, and a genuine passion for connection to my work. I crafts a personalized approaches to working with each client and draw from modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and Play Therapy. Currently, I am a Certified Clinical Child & Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP-CA). I am also pursuing certification as a Somatic Experiencingยฎ Practitioner through Somatic Experiencingยฎ International. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is an approach to healing that fosters a deeper connection to the present moment while gently cultivating tolerance for challenging emotions and sensations. SE helps individuals recognize the body's natural responses to stress and supports the release of trauma responses. This facilitates resolution within the nervous system and restores the body's ability to self-regulate. I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work from Aurora University, specializing in School-Based Social Work. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Illinois State University with a focus in child welfare. With a decade of experience as a School Social Worker, I possesses a comprehensive understanding of educational settings, providing invaluable support to children, adolescents, and parents. Additionally, I can assist parents in understanding and navigating school-based supports, 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans. Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, outdoor activities, and the company of my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Milo. I am currently accepting new clients at Core Connection Counseling located in Lisle, Illinois.

When a parent works on maintaining their own regulation, it plays a crucial role in effective co-regulation with their child.

Hereโ€™s why itโ€™s important:

Modeling Behavior: Children learn by watching their parents. When parents stay calm and composed, they demonstrate how to handle emotions, providing a clear example for their children to follow.
