Registered dietitian nutritionists bring expertise that guides individuals toward healthier choices every day. Building good nutrition habits is about making small, sustainable changes that support long term well being. Start with one simple step, keep going, and see how those healthy habits can grow.

Residents enjoyed a creative evening at our Drop-In Art Night, trying their hand at still life drawing. With pencils in hand and a table of carefully arranged objects as inspiration, artists took their time observing shapes, shadows, and details.

Art has a wonderful way of bringing people together, sparking conversation, and celebrating the beauty in everyday things.

Life in the Benedictine tradition is grounded in community, prayer and a shared commitment to seek God together. The Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth — who founded Benedictine in 1985 — have shaped their world through their leadership, service and unwavering dedication to those in need.

Their healthcare ministry continues with Benedictine. Guided by their example, we remain committed to serving others with compassion, hospitality and purpose — truly living out what it means to lead . We are grateful for the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, whose vision continues to inspire our work and mission.

Nutrition plays a powerful role in helping older adults maintain strength, manage chronic conditions, and enhance overall well being. At Benedictine, we prioritize good nutrition to help residents thrive with: balanced, flavorful meals, specialized diets for medical conditions, and meaningful social dining to promote better appetite and emotional well-being. Nourishing the body nurtures the spirit — and we are honored to support both for Nutrition Month and throughout the year.

Social work is more than a profession — it’s a calling to uplift people, defend justice, and transform lives. In long term care, social workers advocate for residents every day, support residents and families as they transition into senior living, and play a key role on the care team to ensure each person’s needs and preferences are honored. Thank you for all you do!

Art gives shape to memory, color to imagination, and reminds us that every stroke tells a beautiful story.

Just as the mighty Blue whale moves gracefully through vast oceans, creativity flows freely when we put brush to paper.

Cool treats & sweet company! 🍨Last night’s Family Night in Memory Care was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of sprinkles. Residents and their loved ones enjoyed sundaes with a wide variety of toppings and shared plenty of smiles during a fun, ice cream inspired round of “Would You Rather?”

Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to gather together around the table. Thank you to our Wellness and Activities team for creating such a joyful evening for our families. 💛

How does Lent connect to the Benedictine Core Value of Hospitality?
In her Lenten Reflection, Sister Joan Marie Stelman, OSB, shares a beautiful insight into this connection. She reminds us that through prayer, abstinence and reflection, Lent helps us clear space in our hearts—letting go of what weighs us down so we can grow in love, patience and kindness.
By making room within ourselves, we become more able to welcome Christ and one another with the openness and compassion at the heart of Benedictine hospitality. Read Sister Joan Marie’s full reflection here:
