Pain management is a key part of veterinary care, especially in emergencies or after surgery. Our ER and critical care teams focus on making pets as comfortable as possible while providing life-saving treatments.

Common ways we manage pain:
✔ Prescription medications tailored to your pet’s condition
✔ Local anesthetics for targeted relief
✔ IV or oral pain medications for fast-acting comfort
✔ Supportive care, including soft bedding, warmth, and gentle handling

Every pet’s pain is unique, and we adjust treatment based on their needs. Comfort and care go hand-in-hand with advanced medical treatment.

Trust AVECCC to keep your pet safe, comfortable, and cared for by our skilled ER and Critical Care Specialists.

What to Expect at an Emergency Vet Visit

We know that bringing your pet to the emergency hospital can feel overwhelming, but our team is here to help every step of the way. ❤️

Here’s what you can expect when you arrive at one of our AVECCC hospitals:

1️⃣ Warm Welcome & Check-In
You’ll be greeted by our front desk and triage teams who will get some quick details about your pet.

2️⃣ Triage Assessment
Our veterinary team will evaluate your pet to determine how urgent their condition is. This helps us ensure the most critical patients receive immediate care.

3️⃣ Veterinary Evaluation & Updates
Once your pet is seen by the doctor, we’ll discuss findings, treatment options, and next steps — keeping you informed throughout the process.

Our goal is to provide compassionate, expert care for your pet while helping you feel supported and informed. 💙

Please note that our Peoria and Gilbert locations offer 24/7 Emergency services, and our Buckeye location is open 7 days a week from 9 AM - 9 PM.

Did you know chocolate toxicity can take hours to appear?

Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats. Symptoms may not show immediately, sometimes taking up to 6–12 hours after ingestion.

If your pet has eaten any amount of chocolate, call your vet immediately, even if they seem fine.

Rapid action can prevent serious complications.
Our emergency teams is ready for your pet at AVECCC!
