Today it was measure, mix and roll making homemade dog treats for our local shelter. Between the smell of peanut butter and pumpkin puree, laughs and fun, it felt good to be making treats that are not only treats for our furry friends, but little snacks of kindness made with caring hands. All the ingredients were natural. We will be bringing the treats to Sun Valley Animal Shelter on Thursday.

We kicked off our National Caregiver Appreciation Week with Purple Day! 💜
Purple represents resilience, inner strength, and the incredible ability to support others, qualities our caregivers embody every single day. It’s also the official color of Alzheimer’s awareness, a cause that is very dear to our hearts.

Amabel & Jenner from Eternity Hospice & Palliative Care, PLLC stopped by with donuts (because we DONUT know what we would do without our amazing caregivers!) and thoughtful goody bags.
Our Executive Director also made personalized lunch bags for each of our caregivers and we had some lucky raffle winners (congrats Ana, Maria, Erik & Sarah).

We’re so grateful for our amazing caregivers and can’t wait to keep celebrating them all week long.

We’re kicking off Caregiver Appreciation Week tomorrow!
With National Caregiver Day on Friday, February 20th, we couldn’t let just one day be enough to celebrate the heart of our community. Thanks to some fantastic community partners, we have special surprises planned all week long. We kicked off Valentine's Day a little early and what better way to celebrate with DJ Dave, music, singing and dancing. DJ Dave comes every month to have the group showcase their talents with karaoke and special moves. They were decked out in Valentine headbands, smiles and fun. We even got newcomers to get up there and sing. Thank you DJ Dave and Dallas for always bringing the best out in our HDR family.

Today our group played Pitching for Love and aimed straight for the prize...chocolates! There were laughs, some groans when there was a miss, friendly competition and plenty of sweet moments. If someone won more than once, they thoughtfully shared their winnings. Afterwards, we had some romantic love songs playing that they sang along to as well got up to dance. It was a fun afternoon.

Today we had some fun on our play of the Winter Olympics. We called it Trust Your Resident. Armed with Nerf guns, they had to ready, aim , fire and try to shoot the cup off of our very brave care staff, Ajourni. We had some sharp shooters and plenty of fun. This sport will be a fun addition to our calendar since everyone enjoyed it.
