Nature Gram 2

Why Vitamin C?

All my patients know, I love Vitamin C and use it for high dose IVs to help the immune system battle chronic disease, as well as, daily Vitamin C powder.

Vitamin C benefits

• Collagen production
• Younger looking skin
• Strong nails and hair
• Helps absorb Iron
• Aids mood swings and depression by converting dopamine into norepinephrine
• Stimulates white blood cells in helping fight infections
• Protective effect from cardiovascular disease by reducing plaque damage from LDL cholesterol which causes arterial damage that may cause a heart attack or stroke.
• Protects cells against the effect of free radicals (unstable molecules) created by exposure to to***co smoke, toxins in our food supply and x-rays, among other sources.

How much Vitamin C is necessary? It depends on each individual’s treatment needs. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, there is no scientific evidence that large amounts – up to 10 grams a day exerted any adverse or toxic effects. It is water soluble and leaves the body quickly. It is beneficial to increase the dosage if feeling ill.

Do we make our own Vitamin C? While other mammals do – humans do not. It is crucial to maintain adequate amounts through diet and supplementation.

What are Vitamin C deficiency symptoms?

• Muscle aches
• Fatigue and fever
• Swollen and bleeding gums
• Weight loss
• Bruising easily
• Red areas around hair follicles
• Dry and wrinkled skin
• Slow to heal wounds

What are Vitamin C rich foods?

• Citrus
• Bell peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, chile peppers, and white potatoes

Symptoms of too much Vitamin C Supplement? Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach cramping and headache.

Is Vitamin C beneficial to the brain? It is needed to convert tryptophan, an amino acid present in animal proteins into serotonin. Serotonin plays a major role in sleep, mood, digestion, wound healing, blood clotting and bone health.
