Last week, LFPC Administrator Meghan Hyam traveled to Washington, D.C. in her dual role as Administrator of Litchfield Family Practice Center and President of the Illinois Rural Health Association to advocate for rural healthcare.

Discussions centered on issues that deeply affect rural clinics and hospitals, and the patients we care for every day — including Medicare Advantage barriers, workforce shortages, Medicaid reimbursement, and the long-term stability of rural practices.

Rural healthcare is the backbone of communities like ours. Ensuring rural voices are heard at the federal level is essential to protecting access to care close to home.
