When scary things happen, your kids know. It is better to let them know your worried, but you also know everything will be okay in the end. You don’t have to say anything else. They may ask questions, they may not. They may ask questions hours later or the next day. Answer them honestly and simply. Let them ask more questions, or let them go back to playing. If they randomly ask more questions, answer them. Let them play, if they want to. Don’t force anything. They ask the questions they are ready to hear answers to. Listen to them.

Back-to-school mornings: chaos or connection?

If your house feels like a whirlwind of missing shoes, snack negotiations, and last-minute hugs—you're not alone. The truth? Every mom I know (myself included!) has had a day where the "welcome back" banner feels more like a finish line than a celebration.

But here's the secret: those wild mornings are proof you're showing up, loving hard, and doing your best (even if the socks don't match).

Need a little more calm in your mornings—or just a judgment-free ear? Reach out anytime. I’m here for all your parenting wins and worries. 💙

DM me or visit http://bloomingbrightpediatrics.com/ to learn how we support busy families, every step of the way.

CONSTIPATION
- Set a toilet routine. Have a regular time to sit on the toilet (after breakfast, when they get home from school, etc). Have them sit for 5 min, or longer even if they don’t have to go.
- Put something under your child’s feet, so they do not dangle.
- Increase your child’s water and fiber intake:
- Foods with fiber - eat 5 servings a day: Apple with skin, pear with skin, peach with skin, raspberries, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potato, kidney beans, lima beans, navy beans, whole wheat cereal, whole wheat bread.
- Decrease “white foods”: White bread, white rice, white pasta, banana, milk/dairy, white/red potato.
- Increase activity levels to help intestines move.

Eczema is super common! And it can be super bad. If we have mild eczema, our thinner ambulance such as lotions and creams can work just fine. When we have severe eczema we need to step it up and use those thinner ones 5+ times a day or use a very thick ointment like Vaseline or Aquaphor or twice a day. Ideally we want to put these creams lotions or ointment on right after we get out of a short bath. We want to apply it to skin that is still damp. Never rub your kiddos skin dry, always pat or just rub in all of that moisture with your hand and not the towel.

We also wanna make sure we are using hypoallergenic detergents and soaps and deodorants and shampoos and conditioners. Hypoallergenic is not the same as all natural. All natural things can still be allergens. I think poison ivy. It’s natural, definitely irritates the skin.

Back-to-school mornings don’t have to overwhelm.

Ever feel like the first day of school is a marathon before 8am? Between finding that missing shoe and coaxing a smile for the camera, it’s easy to forget you’re not alone in the chaos.

Here’s my favorite secret: It’s not about perfection—it’s about showing up, hugs and all. Even if breakfast was a granola bar in the car, your love is what matters most.

Need a little extra support this school year? Reach out anytime—I’m here for you and your crew. 💙

Back-to-school doesn’t have to mean chaos.

Feeling that mix of excitement and overwhelm as your little one heads back to class? You’re not alone—juggling routines, lunches, and big feelings is a LOT, even for the most organized mom. But here’s a secret: you don’t have to do it all perfectly (and you’re already doing better than you think).

This week, try a simple reset: pick one small thing to make mornings easier—maybe packing lunches the night before, or setting out tomorrow’s outfit together. Celebrate the wins, no matter how tiny!

If you ever need a listening ear, personalized advice, or a pediatrician who truly gets it, I’m here for you—24/7, with home visits and zero judgment. Reach out and let’s make this school year your family’s best yet. 🌟
