Help your kids create meaningful New Year’s Resolutions—and guess what? These tips can work for you, too! I love using this time to reflect on how far we’ve come and set our intentions for the year ahead. Resolutions can be made as a family, individually, as a couple, or even as parent-kid duos. So many possibilities!
I suggest looking at 8 key areas for a balanced life, tailored to be age-appropriate for your little ones:
1. Spiritual/Religious/Humanitarian
2. Family
3. Friends
4. Physical Health
5. Mental Health
6. Finances – For younger kids, this could be saving for something special like a new bike or a trip to an amusement park.
7. Fun
8. Career – Ask your kids what they want to be when they grow up! Even if they change their minds later, it’s a great chance to explore. For example, my 4-year-old wants to be a teacher, so we can play educational games, have him teach his siblings, or practice public speaking!
