The Violence Prevention Program is bringing the good vibes again this fall with our FREE outdoor movement series — kicking off Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. in the beautiful Emory Hillandale Community Garden and continuing through November!

This National Community Health Worker Awareness Week 2025, we’re celebrating our bridge-builders, problem solvers, and patient champions — Emory Healthcare’s Community Health Workers (CHWs).

From the NICU at Emory Decatur Hospital to the Emergency Departments at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Hillandale Hospital, our CHWs are making rounds, listening deeply, and connecting patients to resources that support them beyond our hospital walls.

☮️ Saturday: We stepped out with purpose at the Peace Walk at Arabia Mountain to raise awareness about gun violence and community wellness.

📣 Monday: A dynamic panel at Emory University Hospital Midtown discussed how we're improving health outcomes and expanding access.

🏙️ Tuesday: Our team hit the road to assess community health needs across South Fulton and Atlanta.

🥼Wednesday: Men’s health took center stage at Peace Baptist Church with a panel on prostate cancer awareness.

Emory Hillandale's Violence Prevention Program will host the 2nd annual Peace Walk on Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m.-noon at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Center located at 3787 Klondike Road in Stonecrest.

This event is held in recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Month and will feature a Community Resource Expo with organizations working to end violence in the community.

- Participants may walk either 1 mile or 5K
- Registration is free and all ages are welcome to participate
- The first 150 registrants will receive a free t-shirt
- Check-in and registration are from 8-9 a.m. and the walk will start at 9 a.m. followed by the Community Resource Expo, complimentary food and fun!
