President Donald Trump has claimed that using acetaminophen (Tylenol) during pregnancy may increase the risk of autism and announced plans for new FDA guidance to caution against its use except when medically necessary.

Speaking at a White House press briefing with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Mehmet Oz, Trump urged pregnant women to limit or avoid Tylenol use, suggesting high fever might be one of the few exceptions. The administration stated that the FDA will update the safety label on acetaminophen, and issue notices to physicians about the possible association.
