Did you know? The indoor swimming pool has been a beloved part of the Landis Homes campus since 1988. From arthritis aquatics and therapeutic classes to water volleyball and family swim times, the pool supports wellness, movement, and connection for residents and their loved ones.

At Landis Communities, we believe movement, laughter, and connection are some of God's greatest gifts to us as we age. That's why we're excited to share that the Lancaster Senior Games are returning May 4–8, 2026 — and we're encouraging every Lancaster County resident 55+ to consider joining in.

Whether you're a competitive athlete or someone who just wants to try something new, the Senior Games offer over 50 events — from co****le and shuffleboard to swimming, weightlifting, and even line dancing.

The benefits go beyond the scoreboard. It's about moving your body, forming friendships, and staying engaged in the community we love.

Registration is just $15. Every participant receives a T-shirt.
To register or learn more, visit lancseniorgames.org or call 717-299-7979.

Did you know? The 1.1-mile walking path that winds throughout the Landis Homes campus was completed in 1995 and designed with no beginning and no end — symbolizing God’s eternal presence. Today, it remains a favorite place for residents to walk, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the campus.

Great to see this!

It is wonderful to have team members sharing at The Gathering, where service providers from across faith traditions are learning from each other. Here Teffie Landmann, Director of Dementia-Friendly Experience, and Audrey Kanagy Spiritual Care Chaplain at Landis Homes, share on Honoring Identity in Dementia Care.

Did you collect any 4-leaf clovers this week? If you did, did you collect over 42,000 of them like former Landis Homes resident Anna Good? This article was shared in the Lancaster newspaper in March 1999. Anna had collected four-leaf clovers since the mid 1950's and kept them dried in two plastic shoeboxes. Her collection held only Lancaster County-grown clovers from the farms where she and her husband lived, or places they visited in the county. While a resident, she also collected many on the Landis Homes campus.

It was wonderful to have members of Everence Financial and Northern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce join in the Grand Opening of the newest branch of the credit union. Open to residents, team members and the broader Lancaster community, this is a great addition to the campus. Did you know one of the founders of Landis Homes, Orie Miller, was also instrumental in forming what is now Everence?

There’s something different about walking a space before it’s finished.

The Landis Homes Board of Directors recently stepped onto the Meadows Hybrid Homes site during a meeting, walking through the homes as they begin to take shape. Framing is in place, rooms are becoming real, and conversations are happening right where future residents will soon call home.

Being in the space changes the perspective. Questions become more thoughtful, conversations more meaningful, and everyone leaves with a clearer understanding of what these homes will become.

We’re grateful to the Landis Homes team for taking the time to walk the site, ask questions, and stay closely connected to the experience taking shape.

David and Betty Thompson, residents of Landis Homes, have shared more than 50 years of marriage shaped by faith, devotion, and music. When David was diagnosed with dementia, music became a powerful way to honor memories and express enduring love. Their story reflects how meaningful moments can continue to resonate, even as life changes.

Did you know? Landis Homes residents have a long history of responding generously to global needs. In 2010, following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, residents organized a special offering that raised more than $18,000 to support international relief efforts — a powerful example of compassion in action.
