A melancholy moment …

November 10, 2025, marked 11 years since our owner, Derek Van Deurzen purchased the Verkuilen Funeral Home in Little Chute. It was the same day he purchased the black van pictured here with Derek.

Recently, Derek reluctantly made the decision to trade this van in as we are transitioning to an all white fleet of vehicles (funeral coaches [hearses] and vans).

Sometimes parting with objects that have a strong connection to who we are today can be a unique experience as we realize how we’ve grown.

It’s times like this that we realize again how fortunate we are to have had the privilege to serve so many of your families through the most difficult moments of your lives. We are grateful and we are honored to be part of the Fox Cities communities with each of you.

📣 🎉🚧 Ballard Road is open!

🚧 BALLARD ROAD IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC! 🚧

The Ballard Road interchange in Appleton is now open to traffic! Crews worked diligently through weather challenges to put the finishing touches on the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). The new interchange will accommodate higher traffic volumes, increase safety, and include additional bike and pedestrian accommodations.
