"Over the weekend, one of my teeth close to the front lost its filling. I called the office Monday morning, and Shawn was able to get me in that day, all the while working around my already scheduled PT appointment. I prepared myself for the worst, thinking crown, root canal, or both would be needed. Dr. Bellingham worked her magic (as she always does), and repaired the tooth while I was there. Here are 3 Dr. B approved tips for keeping teeth healthy after all the Halloween candy:

1️⃣ Rinse or drink water right after eating sweets — it helps wash away lingering sugar
2️⃣ Wait 30 minutes before brushing and flossing — brushing too soon can spread acids that weaken enamel
3️⃣ Stick to one “candy time” instead of snacking all day long (then brush & floss 30 mins after)

👻 Say BOO to tooth decay—Here are 3 dentist-approved tips to protect your kiddo’s smile this Halloween:

✅ Pick “better” candy.
Chocolate dissolves quickly and is easier to brush away. Try to limit sticky gummies, taffy, or sour candies that cling to teeth and feed cavity-causing bacteria.

✅ Set a candy time… not an all-day candy buffet.
Let kids enjoy their candy after meals (when saliva is already flowing and helps rinse sugar off teeth) instead of snacking on it all day long.

✅ Brush + rinse ASAP.
Have them drink water right after candy, and brush within 30 minutes—especially before bedtime when bacteria love to party on sugar-covered teeth.
