Marilyn Mae (Robinson) White

Marilyn Mae (Robinson) White, a beloved mother and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026. She is now reunited with her late husband, Clifford.

Born on May 26, 1931, in Syracuse, New York, Marilyn was the daughter of Lloyd and Violet (Wood) Robinson. A proud member of the Herkimer High School Class of 1948, she furthered her education at Utica College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. The following year, she married Clifford White, and together they shared a loving partnership that lasted 37 years until his passing on January 10, 1990. In 2001, Marilyn moved in with her son and daughter-in-law to keep the warmth of family close by.

Marilyn was known for her strong work ethic, taking on various roles throughout her life. She dedicated over 20 years of her career to H&R Block, where she prepared taxes at both the Herkimer and Little Falls offices, eventually serving as the manager of the Little Falls location. Even after her retirement, she continued to support the community through tax preparation for Deborah Marrone, CPA in Mohawk.

A woman of deep faith, Marilyn found joy and solace in various Bible study gatherings. Her organizational skills extended to her passion for genealogy, where she traced her family's roots back to the 1600s and 1800s with great enthusiasm.

In her leisure time, Marilyn enjoyed games like Scrabble, often challenged by the computer, and participated in a weekly tradition of completing the New York Times crossword puzzle with her son Douglas and daughter-in-law Sharon. She actively attended the Christian Bible Church in Mohawk.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted sons and daughter-in-law Douglas and his wife Sharon White of Mohawk, NY, and Darryl White of San Diego, CA. She leaves behind a loving family, including several nieces and nephews and their families, along with cherished cousins and lifelong friends, Lillian, Linda, Joanna, and Shirley.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her son-in-law David Stephens.

In honoring Marilyn's wishes, there will be no public services, as the family will remember her life privately. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Clifford, at the Village of Mohawk Cemetery at a later time of the families choosing.

For those who wish to extend their sympathies, donations may be made in her memory to the Christian Bible Church at 167 Ward Rd., Mohawk, NY 13407 or online at www.christianbiblechurch.us/giving/, or to a charity of their choice.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, located at 7507 State Route 5, Little Falls, NY. Online condolences can be left at www.mohawkvalleyfunerals.com.

Stephen A. Ecker

Early Sunday morning, September 7, 2025, Stephen Andrew Ecker, 74, quietly passed over to his heavenly home while at Fulton Center nursing facility in Gloversville, NY.

“Steve” was born on April 24, 1951, in Middletown, NY, the son of Stephen J. and Shirley (Goettman) Ecker. He resided most of his life in Bloomingburg, NY and received his education at Pine Bush Central school (class of ‘69). Steve also served in the US Air Force. Afterward, he received additional training through Bell & Howell, Orange Co.Comm.College, and General Telephone, where he was employed for a time.

Among Steve’s many interests were his love of technology – especially television & electronics. He operated “Clearview TV” service for many years. Also, he worked in building maintenance at King Centre, servicing heating, A/C, plumbing, and electrical systems. There wasn’t much Steve couldn’t do - including building/servicing computers. He enjoyed helping others in any way he could. He was "Mr. Fixit" for all.

Steve was a musician and accomplished guitarist, playing often in high school stage band and many other community functions over the years. He was a man of great faith and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church at Bullville, NY, where he served as a trustee and lay speaker. He also served over 40+ years as a member and sponsor for local A/A groups. A most beloved local personality, Steve would often be seen at the “Quickway Diner” visiting and consulting with the community.

In his later years, Steve valiantly struggled with Parkinson’s disease, which resulted in his stay at Fulton Center. Here, he was able to keep frequent contact and fellowship with family in the area, often going for outings – meals, trips to see old friends, picnics, and other family functions. He loved his music, holidays with family, activities at Dolgeville Christian Fellowship, and especially birthday parties for his friends at the Center.

Steve was predeceased by his parents, Stephen J. and Shirley Ecker and his sister, Bonnie J Pinto and husband Robert. He is survived by his sister, Dale Woods and husband John; and his brother, Jeffrey Ecker and wife Suzanne; as well as multiple cousins, nieces & nephews, and grandnieces & nephews.

Steve’s celebration of life will be held at the United Methodist Church, in Bullville, NY on Saturday October 11th at 2pm. A fellowship and refreshment time will follow.

Donations in Steve’s memory may be sent to Bullville Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 161, Bullville, NY 10915.
