Holiday Gift Card Program - ASDF partners with autism organizations across the country that help in selecting and distributing Holiday Gift Cards to families who have the greatest need for financial assistance. The e-gift cards provide hope and a helping hand during the holiday season to the families with an autistic child that are randomly selected. Special thanks to Ms. Mendoza, Transition Coordinator, the parents, and the Child Study Team for their warm welcome and dedication to supporting families.

GHGS had the honor of supporting Ms. Tresil and Ms. De Leon, two determined mothers seeking guidance during this difficult time.

Ms. Tresil shared her frustration: her son graduated from a great school in the summer of 2025 but was left without a transition plan or services. She had to navigate applications for SSI, DDD, and guardianship on her own. She told us, “If my transition coordinator had guided me, I wouldn’t be doing this now.” Her son is now out of school, without services.

Ms. DeLeon came to update her résumé, ready to take the next step for her family. That’s what GHGS does: we help families in need.

With the help of our colleague, Ms. Calvo, a Support Coordinator, we reminded these mothers that you don’t walk this journey alone. There is hope. There is help. There is GHGS.

Guiding Hands Guardianship Services (GHGS) is collaborating with The Wright Napier Foundation and The Paterson Food Truck Movement to host the 8th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Back. We will be providing complimentary food, beverages, hygiene products, and cold-weather essentials to families in need, while supplies last. GHGS is soliciting volunteers and donations to facilitate this event. Your support will provide warmth, comfort, and hope to our community this Thanksgiving.
