When you shift your lens, everything changes. Behaviors stop feeling random or “challenging,” and start making sense. They become communication. They become a child’s way of telling you what they need, what they’re feeling, or what’s too much.
Instead of asking “how do we stop this?” we begin asking “what is this child trying to tell me?” And that’s where real progress begins.
Collaboration is at the heart of this. When BCBAs, therapists, and families come together with a shared understanding, we can support the whole child. Not just the behavior we see, but the sensory, emotional, and developmental needs underneath it.
Differences aren’t something to correct… they’re something to understand, support, and even celebrate. Because when a child feels safe, seen, and understood, that’s when growth naturally happens 🤍
