If you have a front-loading washer, you already know… that rubber seal can get gross fast.
Moisture + detergent buildup = the perfect spot for mold and mildew.

Here’s an easy maintenance spray:

¾ cup white vinegar
10 drops Tea Tree
5 drops Grapefruit

Add everything to an 8 oz glass spray bottle and shake well.
Spray around the door seal and wipe down with a soft cloth. Don’t forget to remove the soap dispenser tray, spray it, and wipe that down too. Let everything air dry before your next load.

Doing this weekly helps keep odors from starting in the first place.

Do you clean your washer regularly, or only when it starts smelling?

If I had to pick one oil that gets used constantly in our house, it would be Lemon.

Sticky residue on jars? Lemon.
Price tag won’t peel off cleanly? Lemon.
Grease spot that won’t budge? Lemon.
Tree sap on hands? Definitely Lemon.

It works as a natural alternative to products like Goo Gone and handles all those random little messes that pop up during the week.

It’s one of those oils that earns its spot in the cabinet.

Warmer weather means more fresh fruit and veggies in the house.
The downside? Most produce has been sprayed and coated before it ever reaches your kitchen.
First thing I do when it comes home? Wash it.

Option 1 (Spray):
¼ cup white or apple cider vinegar
10 drops Lemon essential oil
Top an 8 oz spray bottle with distilled water
Shake and spray your produce, then rinse.

Option 2 (Soak):
Fill a sink or bowl with water
Add 3–5 drops Lemon oil
3–4 pumps On Guard foaming hand wash
Let produce soak 5–10 minutes, then rinse.

Bonus: I’ve noticed my produce stays fresh longer this way.

Body wash is something you use daily, so it makes sense to know what’s in it.

Here’s a simple version you can mix yourself:

½ cup unscented castile soap
4 tbsp vegetable glycerin
3 tbsp fractionated coconut oil
10 drops essential oil (Citrus Bliss, Peppermint, Grapefruit, or Lime work great)

Add everything to an 8 oz glass pump bottle. Shake before each use to blend.
It lathers well, smells fresh, and skips the synthetic fragrance.

And if you’d rather not DIY, the doTERRA Spa Body Wash is a great ready-made option.
Fun fact: it also works as a bubble bath.

If I could outsource one room in the house to clean, it would be this one. Soap scum, water spots, mystery buildup… it’s a whole situation.

Instead of grabbing a harsh cream cleanser, try this softer version:
¾ rounded cup baking soda
¼ cup unscented castile soap
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp vinegar
5–10 drops Lemon oil

Mix the baking soda and castile soap first. Stir in the water, then add the vinegar and Lemon oil. You’re looking for a soft, spreadable paste.
Store it in an airtight container. This batch should give you 2 - 4 uses.

Apply it to tubs, tile, sinks, or even the toilet. Let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes, then scrub and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
It cuts through buildup without that overpowering chemical smell that makes you want to leave the room.

There was a time when I could not live without those big-brand disinfecting wipes. Every spill. Every sticky counter. Grab a wipe.

Then I looked at the ingredient list.
If you still love the convenience but don’t love what’s in them, this is a solid swap.

You’ll need:
1 roll premium paper towels
2 cups warm water
2 tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
5 drops On Guard
1–2 tbsp On Guard Foaming Hand Wash

Slice the paper towel roll in half using a serrated knife. Place one half into an airtight container.
In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, FCO, On Guard, and the foaming hand wash. Pour the liquid evenly over the paper towels. Cover and let it soak for about 10 minutes, then flip the container and let it sit another 10 minutes so everything distributes evenly.

Once fully saturated, pull out the cardboard tube from the center. The wipes will dispense from the middle.
They’re convenient, they smell amazing, and you know exactly what’s in them.

If you’re cleaning everything else with better ingredients, it makes zero sense to keep pouring neon-blue mystery liquid into the bowl.

You’ll need:
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1 ½ tbsp unscented castile soap
15 drops Abode Blend

Stir the baking soda and citric acid together first. Then slowly mix in the castile soap and Abode until the texture feels like damp sand.
Press the mixture firmly into a mold and let it dry for at least four hours. Once hardened, pop them out and keep them in an airtight container.

When it’s time to clean, drop one into the toilet bowl. It’ll fizz as it activates. Give it a good scrub and you’re done.
Would you try making these, or are you more of a ready-made cleaner person?
