Dr. Sasapu completed his Medical School at Andhra Medical College/King George Hospital in India, his residency at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans, and fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) at the renowned Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. He is currently serving as faculty in Hematology Oncology division at UAMS and recently promoted to Tenured Associate Professor of Medicine. Dr. Sasapu is certified by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for conduction of clinical trials in humans. He is the principal investigator and sub-investigator for multiple clinical trials in treatment of various cancer types including lymphoma, leukemia, and other blood disorders. His area of emphasis is to treat and cure cancer using non-chemotherapy drugs like immunotherapy, targeted agents, novel oral cancer drugs, and cellular therapies like CAR-T cells. He is the Program-lead for the most innovative cancer therapy called CAR-T Cell Immunotherapy at UAMS. Dr. Sasapu also serves as the Associate Program Director of Hematology Oncology fellowship at UAMS. He is responsible for training young doctors to become cancer fighters as Hematologists and Medical Oncologists. He has presented his cancer research work at numerous medical conferences and has been published in various prestigious international medical journals. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH) and has been featured on TV and newspapers educating and bringing awareness regarding Breast Implant-Associated Lymphoma and other topics.
