The Parents Club is currently seeking volunteers to fill several open positions on the board:

- President-Elect
- Membership and Website Coordinator
- Marketing and Communications Coordinator
- Special Events Coordinator

Serving our students, faculty, and staff is truly fulfilling, and we enjoy working together.

Our commitment involves meeting just once a month for one hour to make decisions on how to allocate funds to best serve the students and the College of Medicine. It is not a huge time request, and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with other medical school parents.

Today, I received a wonderful thank-you note from the President of the M1 Student Wellness Advocate group. Because of a donation from the Parents Club, they were able to host several wellness activities for students throughout the semester. This is another example of how your dues are used to enrich the lives of our medical students!

"I am reaching out to thank the Parents' Club for their support of the Student Wellness Advocates throughout the past semester. Thanks to your help, we were able to provide our classes with encouragement, resources, and fun wellness opportunities that helped us all get through another challenging semester. Here are some specific examples of what you helped us accomplish:
*We were able to get coffee, tea, and a variety of delicious treats for our last TBL quiz of the semester! Everyone enjoyed this so much - especially the cookie cake & Capri Suns.
*We took a trip to Pinnacle Mountain for our new event, "SWAlks," then celebrated a recent exam at Hillstation together!
*We celebrated Mardi Gras with some amazing King Cakes from Dempsey's and Community Bakery at one of our quizzes!"

The UAMS College of Medicine Academic House 5K will take place this Saturday, March 15, at Two Rivers Park in Little Rock. The event will include a 1-mile fun run, a 5K, and other activities.

The college is in need of more volunteers. Please sign up here if you are interested in helping out.
