Good Shepherd Community Known for providing quality, affordable housing for seniors, Good Shepherd boasts great amenities and services in a natural setting.

Good Shepherd Community began as an ecumenical mission conceived by the bishops of Arkansas’ Catholic, Episcopal and United Methodist churches to provide an innovative way to fill the need for affordable, not-for-profit housing options for local seniors. Since 1975, Good Shepherd has worked to identify and respond to the health and social needs of senior adults of all ethnicities and backgrounds in our community. Over time, Good Shepherd has grown from a single building of 200 apartments into a full-service retirement community with five facilities with more than 500 apartments, all located on a picturesque 145-acre campus in west Little Rock. Good Shepherd is committed to offering our residents a balanced quality of life by providing a true community atmosphere, attractive living spaces, and a healthy and independent lifestyle – with all the comforts and conveniences of home – including good friends and neighbors.

A group of Good Shepherd residents recently had the honor of touring the historic home of Daisy Bates. During the 1957-58 school year, her home served as a vital safe haven for the Little Rock Nine as they faced the challenges of integrating Central High School.

As a dedicated educator and mentor, Ms. Bates provided these students with the courage and guidance needed to change history. We are grateful to walk in the footsteps of such an iconic Arkansas leader. 🏛️✨

What a fantastic time we had celebrating Mardi Gras at Good Shepherd Community! Our residents truly embraced the spirit of New Orleans with vibrant masks, dazzling beads, and plenty of laughter.
