Gillespie Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. was founder in 1972 by Walter Gillespie Sr and Osborn Gillespie. Osborn was a funeral director and Walter served as the mortician and funeral director. Their passion and dedication caused the business to grow throughout the early 70s. However, in 1974 Walter died in a car accident. In spite of the death of his brother, Osborn continued with family business. Osborn would go on to train and incorporate two nephews Claborne and Oshian Jr. into the family business. In 2004, Osborn Gillespie passed away. The current co-owners and managers of Gillespie Brothers Funeral Home is Claborne and Oshian Jr. Walter and Osborn legacy is now being carried out by their two nephews as well as by the 3rd generation of Gillespie’s which include the daughter of Claborne, the son of Oshian Jr, and a nephew of Claborne and Oshian Jr.
