We train community volunteers to become familiar with local resources and to provide support to women during pregnancy and for the first year of life of their babies Our Vision:
Every Child is born into an environment that will value, nurture and support them to reach their full potential as a valued member in our global society

Our Mission:
To provide strategies for transforming lives into “Diamonds”- positive forces in the community- through dreaming, nurturing, educating, training , coaching and believing.

Highlighting the poetry of Dr. Maya Angelou:

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

March is Women's History Month! The theme is "Leading the Change: Women Shaping a sustainable Future".
When sustainability is defined it refers to these important components:
- Financial Sustainability: Women creating equitable economic systems.
-Social Justice: Leaders building resilient, inclusive communities.
-Education: Educators ensuring knowledge is passed down to future generations.
-Leadership: Mentors preparing the next wave of changemakers.

Women are often the ones “designing blueprints for sustainable transformation.” A truly sustainable future must support both the people and the planet.

Today, we honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of disrupting harmful systems. Honoring Dr. King requires that we refuse to just romanticize his words but that we answer his call to action to build equitable systems of support and empowerment that enable people to work, thrive, and flourish in their community. This call to action guides us in our work to support women during pregnancy.

Yesterday marked the unexpected passing of Janell Green Smith, DNP, a beloved midwife from Charleston, South Carolina, who dedicated her life to bringing new life into the world. Janell, known affectionately as “My Favorite MidWife” by many, passed away shortly after giving birth to her first child—a profound irony that underscores the fragility of life and the depth of her calling. She delivered over 200 babies, each one a testament to her skill, compassion, and unwavering commitment. Her absence leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of her patients, colleagues, and family. Rest in peace, Janell; your legacy as a healer and advocate continues to inspire us all.
