Child & Family Health Promotion Laboratory at UAMS The Child and Family Health Promotion Laboratory is a pediatric psychology lab dedicated to promoting health equity for all children and families.

The Child & Family Health Promotion Laboratory at UAMS is focused on promoting child & family health & well-being. Our laboratory investigates how family members’ health behaviors affect child & family health. We have a specific focus on reducing tobacco exposure among at-risk children & families, particularly children with medical conditions (e.g., asthma, cancer, etc.). Our research also examines how environmental smoke exposure & tobacco use are associated with family health, as well as individual & contextual protective, resource, & risk factors. In addition, our laboratory is interested in the development & evaluation of high reach, theoretically-informed interventions focused on promoting family health.
