The holiday season can bring joy, but it can also stir up old wounds, loneliness, financial stress, grief, or memories we didn’t choose. For many, this time of year is complicated… and connection becomes even more important.

So today, we invite you to pause and check in:

💚 How are you feeling today—really?

💚 Who in your community might be struggling silently?

💚 What is one act of connection you can extend to yourself AND one person around you?

Connection is healing.
Presence is powerful. Community care saves lives.

Let’s continue into December with compassion for ourselves and for those who carry trauma, grief, or heavy emotions during this season. 💚

🌿 Soul Work Sunday: Becoming in the Middle

This month, we’re slowing down to reflect, breathe, and JUST BE: gently, honestly, & spiritually. We begin with an understanding of grace...

A word/message to ponder:

"Sometimes we sit with ourselves and think,
I wish I hadn’t done that. I wish I hadn’t said that.
And then another part of us whispers,
But if we hadn’t… we wouldn’t know what we know now..."

Today, we can be reminded us of this:
faith isn’t just praise: It’s reflection, wrestling, & remembering.

Sometimes isolation feels easier & we distance ourselves from others because there is less noise, less disappointment.
But often it’s not peace, it’s protection.

BUT, true healing asks for something deeper.

We don’t need all the answers today.
We don’t have to rush healing or growth...WE JUST HAVE TO REMAIN OPEN TO IT.

1. What chapter(s) of your life are you learning to look back on with grace, not regret?

2. What area(s) of your life right now need the most attention and focus (Mental, emotional, spiritual, social, financial, etc.) that can aid in your overall growth and resilience?

"I Am..."

This summer, Mr. Julian sat down with youth at Choosing to Excel summer camp to challenge them to boldly declare who they are and who they’re becoming—starting with the simple but powerful act of saying their name with confidence. Through reflection and conversation, the youth were encouraged to think deeply about their character, their dreams, and the kind of person they want to grow up to be.

And because growth deserves to be celebrated—pizza was on the menu for those who showed up, spoke up, and took the challenge to heart!

The STAT team is passionate about pouring into all ages, but there's something especially powerful about investing in our youth as they discover their voice, their value, and their vision for the future.

As part of my MSW internship, goal to create community programs following graduation, and personal passion for developing programs, I had the opportunity to design and launch "Step Into Your Power"—a dynamic and empowering workshop created to help youth build self-confidence, emotional resilience, and a strong sense of purpose. Through interactive games, creative storytelling, and group challenges, participants discover how to use their voice, trust their instincts, and boldly embrace who they are—inside and out. The focus is simple yet powerful: growing strong, thinking big, and unlocking the superpower that’s already within them.

I was truly blessed to collaborate with Bridging the Gaps of Arkansas, The Salvation Army, and We Are Washington to pilot this program and serve incredible youth in the community.

To celebrate and reinforce their growth, we gifted participants with journals, books, and other special treats—tools to remind them of the powerful individuals they are becoming (and, in many cases, already are).

What an amazing learning experience for us all!
