🌨️ Due to current conditions and challenges accessing the roads to our remote campus, administrative staff will work remotely on Monday, January 26th. Meanwhile, our direct care, nursing, and facility operations teams are on-site and fully prepared to manage any weather-related events in the coming days.

❄️ House staff can connect you with administrative staff if necessary.

As winter weather approaches this weekend, our campus is preparing the best we can. Still, storms and Arkansas weather bring a heightened sense of worry — especially when freezing temperatures and potential power loss put vulnerable youth at risk.

The children in our care depend on warmth, stability, and uninterrupted support. We never want to face future storms wondering if the power will hold or if our campus will stay safe.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our administrative offices are closed today. Our house staff, medical care teams, and students remain on campus, and programming continues as scheduled.

Youth Home began with a conversation — and a commitment.

In 1966, social worker Carol Burns Smelley and nine Little Rock community members came together to address the urgent need for residential care for youth in foster care. Carol became Youth Home’s founder and first Executive Director, laying the foundation for what would grow into decades of life-changing care.
