LUMBAR MULTIFIDUS MUSCLE ATROPHY: is the degeneration, fatty replacement, and weakening of the deep, stabilizing muscles along the spine, commonly caused by chronic lower back pain, injury, or sedentary lifestyle. It causes spinal instability, reduced range of motion, and persistent pain, which is often visible on MRI scans. Treatment typically involves targeted, specialized rehabilitation exercises.
If rehabilitation & the exercises don’t work, there is a new treatment for this problem called ReActiv8 where a small internal neuromuscular restorative gentle electrical stimulation device can be used to regenerate these lumbar muscles!

We often find patients face an array of confusing and overwhelming choices when it comes to treating back and neck pain. Unlike other facilities, we use a comprehensive and multidisciplinary team approach to treat each patient. Mocek Spine offers the best solutions and cutting-edge medical advancements through a cooperative team of spinal medicine physicians, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiatrists, physical therapists, psychologists, chiropractors, and specialized nurses.

In the past, treatment options were limited. Patients were subjected to two options, intensive spinal surgery or living with the pain. Recent advancements have allowed Mocek Spine to offer advanced spine care solutions including, medications, injections, physical therapy, and minimally invasive treatments.

Mocek Spine is bridging the gap between conservative treatments and traditional surgery. Historically, spine surgeries were limited in their exploratory efforts. Now with the use of diagnostic spinal injections, the source of the patient's pain can be more clearly defined. We use the most advanced x-ray techniques when administering injections. Dr. Mocek provides his patients with conscious sedation techniques, including both nitrous oxide and intravenous medications for comfort during procedures.
