✨ ODS Team Spotlight: Whitney Castro - Our Swiss Army Knife! 🛠️
If you're looking for Whitney in One Day Surgery (ODS), just look for the person who is already there helping out before you even asked. Seriously, her can-do attitude is so inspiring, we're pretty sure she runs on a potent blend of caffeine and pure helpfulness.
Why Whitney rocks the ODS world:
• She's our OR instrument wizard. When things get complex, Whitney makes sure the right tool is in the right hand at the right time. Basically, she's the reason everything flows smoother than a freshly sterilized surgical tray.
• She's so versatile, we're pretty sure she could file our taxes and win a gold medal in the same afternoon.
Outside the Scrub Life:
When she’s not keeping the ODS machine running flawlessly, Whitney is probably:
• Being an MVP on the softball field 🥎
• Seeing the world ✈️
• Hitting the gym (to keep that "boundless energy" supply fully stocked) 💪
• Spending quality time with her family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

It is with immense pleasure and admiration that we dedicate this week's staff spotlight to a truly outstanding member of our team, Nurse Katie Farris!

Although Katie is relatively new to our bustling One Day Surgery unit, her dedication to patient care and skilled hands have made her an indispensable asset in record time. Frankly, we cannot imagine our daily operations without her!

Beyond her professional prowess, Katie's warm demeanor and collaborative spirit mean she fits into our close-knit family like she's been here for years. She truly embodies the collegiality and teamwork we cherish.

When she steps away from her duties, Katie is an enthusiast of both captivating screen time (TV/movies) and the great outdoors. So whether she's expertly dissecting a complex medical procedure or perfectly planning a weekend adventure, she's always ready for action!

We are incredibly fortunate to have Katie Farris as part of our team and eagerly anticipate her continued, lightning-fast contributions!

✨ ODS Spotlight Alert! Meet Jacy Cagle, one of our Surgical MVPs! ✨

Forget "multitasking"—Jacy, our incredible scrub tech, operates on a different level. In the OR, she's a Zen master of scalpels and clamps, anticipating needs before the surgeon even thinks them. She keeps procedures smoother than a filtered selfie.

But wait, there's more! At home, she uses those same lightning-fast skills to manage three active sons and a supportive husband. We're pretty sure the operating room prep is less intense than getting those boys ready for school. Seriously, if you can successfully manage a pediatric chaos unit and a high-stakes surgery, you deserve a cape (and maybe a nap).

Jacy, you're an absolute rockstar! Thanks for everything you do! 💙

Since joining our team, Allison has swiftly become an invaluable and indispensable addition to the One Day Surgery unit. Her dedicated presence and positive impact are already so significant that it's challenging to envision our operations running as smoothly without her. Allison consistently radiates warmth, compassion, and a genuine kindness that enriches the experience for both our patients and her colleagues, truly cultivating a more supportive and positive environment for everyone she encounters.

While Allison is diligently immersing herself in the intricate details of her role and expanding her expertise in surgical nursing, her eagerness to learn and unwavering commitment to excellence are truly commendable. Our Weekly Spotlight is focused on the one and only Amanda Brucks! As a surgical technologist, Amanda has a heart of gold and a sharp mind that keeps our O.R. running smoothly.

But she's not stopping there—Amanda is also actively working to become a registered nurse. We're still trying to figure out how she manages to do it all!

When she finally gets a moment to breathe, Amanda loves to curl up with a good book, create a culinary masterpiece in the kitchen, and, most importantly, snuggle with her fiancé and two beloved dogs.

Plus, you might recognize her handiwork: Amanda is the incredible designer and seamstress behind some of our favorite scrub caps, often going the extra mile to design the custom fabric herself. Amanda is a truly amazing force of nature
