World Prematurity Day is observed annually every 17th of November. Its aim is to raise global awareness on the challenges for women and babies associated with preterm birth, celebrates the lives of preterm infants and honors preterm infants who gained their angel wings. Preterm birth is a leading cause of death among children under five, with an estimated 15 million babies (one in ten) born prematurely worldwide every year.

The UAMS milk bank had a catastrophic freeze failure over the weekend and lost all their milk. They supply milk to NICU’s for Arkansas Children’s, UAMS, and other hospitals. They also help mothers in the community.

If you can donate milk, or know anyone who can, please reach out to them. This is the only Breastmilk Bank in the state and these hospitals depend on it! Please Help!!!

Help if you can! Preemie babies need breast milk!

Providing human milk saves the lives of fragile newborns who cannot get their own mother’s milk. Some mothers don’t have enough milk to feed their babies while they are in the hospital, but healthy breastfeeding mothers at home can help us make sure those babies continue to get human milk…
