Solutions Counseling Group is now an approved Continuing Education provider through the Alabama Board of Social Work Examiners.

This has been part of a bigger vision for us, not just offering therapy, but creating spaces for learning, growth, and real clinical development.

Over the next few months, we’ll be expanding into:
* trainings for clinicians
* workshops for the community
* and spaces that bridge both

All rooted in practical, real-world application…not just theory.

We’re excited about what’s ahead and grateful to be stepping into this next phase.

More soon.

Happy Social Work Month from the SCG admin side of the desk

We get a front row seat to:
• the late-night charting and early-morning emails
• the hard conversations you don’t post about
• the way you carry people’s stories with so much care

Tammi & Andre, we see you.
To every social worker in our community, we see you too.

Thank you for answering messages between sessions, fixing schedules on the fly, holding hope when people can’t find it, and still finding a way to laugh in between.

Drop a 💙 in the comments if a social worker has made a difference in your life or tag one so we can celebrate them with you.

It’s a special day over here at Solutions Counseling Group 🎉

Help me wish a BIG happy birthday to my business partner and friend, Tammi L. Moore, LICSW-S, PIP.

If you’ve ever worked with Tammi, you know she shows up with a rare mix of warmth, clinical depth, and “tell-the-truth” care. She’s the heart behind our Soft Life workshop, the Heal What You Inherited mini-guide, and so much of the steady support people feel when they land at SCG.

Tammi, thank you for the way you love our community, our clients, and this work. I’m grateful to be building this practice with you.

Drop a 🎂 or 💙 in the comments to help me celebrate her today.

“Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all.”

A lot of us say we love ourselves…
but are we offering that same love, attention, and care to the parts of us we don’t like as much?

The insecure part.
The angry part.
The tired, shut-down, “I don’t even recognize myself” part.

Do you create a safe space for those parts to exist without shame?
Do you speak to them with patience instead of punishment?
Do you nourish them so they can grow into something healthier?

This week, we’re inviting you to notice:
Where in your life is self-love still conditional?

Black History is more than what we survived.
It’s the way we love, heal, laugh, and build whole futures out of pieces we didn’t ask for.

As Black clinicians, we honor the generations who made it possible for us to sit in the therapist’s chair, to hold space, and to say:

🖤 Your feelings are real.
🖤 Your story matters.
🖤 You deserve care, not just survival.

This Black History Month, we’re holding special space for:
– Helpers who carry everybody’s crisis
– Black women who are tired of being “the strong one”
– Black men trying to unlearn “don’t feel, just perform”
– Adult children untangling what they inherited

Our history is sacred. So is our rest, our joy, and our healing.

With love,

“I’m done. I resign to being alone.”

We hear some version of this a lot.
Sometimes it’s true clarity: “I’m choosing a season of singleness on purpose.”
But a lot of times, it’s a shield:
– “I’m tired of being disappointed.”
– “I don’t trust my own picker anymore.”
– “If I say I don’t want it, maybe it won’t hurt as much.”

Love in real life 2026 isn’t about pretending you don’t want connection. It’s about being honest about why you’re pulling back:
Is this a healthy boundary?
Or is this a resignation that’s really protecting an old wound?

No judgment either way. Just an invitation to check in with yourself before you bury the part of you that still wants to be seen and chosen.

In this season, are you:
1. Choosing singleness with intention
2. Or protecting yourself from disappointment
3. Or a little bit of both?

A lot of people hit mid-January already feeling “behind.”
Behind on goals.
Behind on healing.
Behind on becoming some new version of themselves by an imaginary deadline.

At Solutions Counseling Group, we believe this:
You don’t have to sprint into 2026.
It’s okay if:
• you’re still moving slowly
• your grief is louder than your goals
• you’re just now catching your breath from. last year
Steady, honest movement will always serve you better than panic and perfectionism.
If this year is already feeling heavy or confusing and you need a place to untangle it, that’s the work we do together at SCG.

Not every “mother wound” comes with a dramatic story.

Sometimes it looks like:
* being the “strong one” for your mom, even as a kid
* feeling guilty any time you need space or say no
* shrinking yourself to keep the peace
* never quite feeling “good enough,” no matter how much you do

You can love your mother, see her humanity, and still be honest about the places where you felt over-responsible, unseen, or emotionally alone.
That honesty isn’t disrespect. It’s the beginning of healing.

As therapists, we often hear:
“She did the best she could… so why am I still hurt?”

Two things can be true:
* She did the best she could.
* And parts of you were still left without what you needed.

If this lands for you, you’re not “too sensitive” and you’re not alone. You’re a person whose story deserves compassion.

This month, we’re working on a gentle Mother Wounds mini-guide for adult daughters navigating complicated relationships with their moms — no mom-bashing, just language, clarity, and care for you.

The Soft Life isn’t a vibe or an aesthetic.
It’s a nervous system shift.

After our Soft Life for High-Functioning Women workshop, one thing kept coming up in our own conversations:

👉🏾 When a woman starts choosing softness, what does support from the men in her life actually look like?

If you’re a woman who is learning to slow down, set boundaries, and live with more ease, we’d love to hear from you:

How can the men in your life support this softer way of living?

Some possibilities we hear in session a lot:
• respecting “no” without an attitude
• not praising you only when you’re overworking
• offering help without keeping score
• listening without immediately trying to “fix” you
• protecting your rest time the way they’d protect a work shift

Men are not the enemy here — many of them simply haven’t had language for this shift.

So let’s put real words to it.

💬 Share in the comments:
If you’re choosing softness this season, what’s ONE specific way a man in your life could support that choice?

Your answer might help someone else find the words they’ve been missing.

Today we are sharing something deeply special: the story behind Solutions Counseling Group’s expansion - the moment that shifted everything...
On November 10th, one conversation set a new chapter in motion. It wasn’t dramatic — just a moment that made us pause and ask:
“What would it look like if we expanded?”
That single question unlocked something we didn’t even realize we’d been holding back.
In the weeks that followed, Solutions Counseling Group grew from a steady practice into a fully developed therapy, consulting, workshop, and wellness brand — something aligned, intentional, and built for the long-term.
The vision came quickly. The work flowed easily. And every new piece seemed to click into place with almost unreasonable clarity.
SCG has always existed — but this is the moment it became its truest form.
Thank you for being here with us as Solutions Counseling Group steps into this next chapter.
Alignment did what hustle never could.
