Weikerts care home Weikerts Care Home formally known as Martin's Care Home is a small licensed 8 bed personal care home in Littlestown PA.

Amanda Weikert worked for Martin's Care Home for 10 years before purchasing the business from the Martin's. Weikerts Care Home provides assistance with ADLs and IADLs and meal prep and 2 snacks a day and medication administration and 2 activities daily. All staffing is direct care staff certified and is certified in medication administration, cpr and first aid certified and diabetic training certified.

Weikert’s care home will start gathering toys for the Littlestown community’s toy drive to help new hope provide gifts to those in need. They must be new toys and unwrapped. This is so they know what age group to put the toy in. This is a very important donation to me personally. I will provide a list of needed age groups and items needed as soon as I can. If u think u would like to help out with a toy please come by and drop it off at the main door or when u come to visit. Thank you very much for the support to help our communities kids. If u can’t donate that’s ok too. Spreading the word is also important to this program as well.

Weikert’s care home is looking for someone who is Willing to be a team player. Part time currently available but could turn to full time eventually. Previous experience is prefered by not required. We are willing to train the right person. Position: direct care staff/med tech. Requirements: high school diploma/ged, reliable transportation during all weather, reliable daycare/ babysitter for children, able to pass background Check, 21 years old or older, understand the responsibilities of caring for the elderly and be able to work every other weekend and shared holidays, be able to work as a team, be able to provide proper care and understanding of all diagnosis and provide compassion to 7-8 residents, be able to provide care for independent through hospice level of care. Be able to multitask, and know the basics of cooking and cleaning. All training and cost or training will be provided by the employer. Training required if you dont already have: Cpr/first aid/ aed, direct care course, medication administration training, diabetic training. Pay will be discussed during the interview process. Payroll is weekly and direct deposit is offered. It’s taken me a few days to make this post, but we unexpectedly lost another member of the Weikert’s care home family. Joesph Stambaugh was a very kind, generous, hard working, funny, sweet man. Always found a reason to make someone laugh even on his bad days. He was always the one to keep us all in line around here. Kept the ladies laughing. Always enjoyed listening to his friends singing at the dinner table. Joseph (Joe) will be missed dearly here. He was always watching out for Emma and loved talking to her when she would come upstairs to visit the residents. I will miss our talks about the many kinds of cows and horses. He was teaching me the names of all the types of cows, especially the kind he kept. Even though I was secretly trying to make sure I bought the right figurine cow with the right color and look of the kind he kept as part of his Christmas’s gift. But it became a on going thing just to spend time together. I will miss hearing ur laugh when we talked about josh catching that whale the day you and him went out on the “buggy”. We loved Joe as one of our own here. We will miss him. We hope his family can find peace and comfort the next few weeks. Weikert’s entire staff and residents are here for you throughout this difficult time. You will always be welcome here. Love to all. Rest in peace Mr . Joe.

We are so sad to say we lost a beautiful woman last night. She had a big heart and a beautiful soul. She was only here a short while but came to us when her and her wonderful family needed us most. We will deeply miss her. Our hearts hurt for her family during this difficult time. But there is no good byes at Weikert’s. It’s only we will see u later. Our family here will last a life time. Rest in peace my dear friend. Till we meet again. Hug ur love ones tight. Life is precious and unpredictable. Show the ones u love just how much. No matter the diagnosis they may get as they age. Family is family no matter what. Memories are what we are left with in the end. Make as many as u can.

Yesterday we lost a beautiful, very loved, caring, smart, generous lady. She was with me for almost two years and I honestly enjoyed every moment I got with her. She was a friend who will be missed by us all here at Weikert’s Care Home. She understood what it meant when would say that family isn’t always blood. She accepted us in as family and she loved her time here with the staff and the other residents who live here. Rest in peace Cindy. We miss you already.

I want to wish a Merry Christmas from Weikert’s care home to our families and future families. The residents enjoyed their day here opening gifts and having a meal together as a family. We couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful family we have and all the loved ones we have lost over the years. Although they are not be with us we remembered them today. Merry Christmas and happy new years.
