Throughout my time in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, there were key moments that shaped the way I approach patient care. Seeing this image was one of them. In the image, which is the cross section of the thigh, the dark areas represent muscle, while the lighter areas show fat.
Since I primarily work with older adults, I often hear about being 'too old' to exercise.
It’s important to understand that it’s never too late to start exercising, and you're never too old to stay active. In fact, as shown in the image, a 70-year-old triathlete can have nearly the same amount of muscle as a 40-year-old triathlete.
"there is no age and time in your life that your body will not respond positively to the stress you put on it. But this is a daily investment" Dr. Vonda Wright
Bottom line:
.................................KEEP EXERCISING..............................
